Minnesota Electronic Theater 2020 Best Student
In December of 2020 I was awarded Best Student at the Minnesota Electronic Theatre for my senior film, Engines. It is a short science fiction story following the crew of sky pirates as they try to fix their crashed and broken airship. My goal for the project was to experiment with combining both 3D and 2D assets while also showing my skills in motion design and rigging. I was very glad to finish my college studies with a film that combined all that I had learned with my passion for science fiction, and I was even more happy when the Minnesota Electronic Theater enjoyed it as well.
Usually when I start a project I begin by breaking it down to it’s simplest pieces and building up what I need from there. When I am writing I focus on specific story beats I want to have impact. When I am rigging a character, I first decide what are the most important movements I want out of the character and how I want them to look.
